On October 2011, Past President Cesar Tan of Rotary Club of Malabon appointed Rotarian Arturo “AL” T. Supangan II as the Club Rotaract Chairman. It was a big responsibility but Rotarian Al accepted the challenge. Until that time, no Rotarians in the rosters handled the Rotaract chairmanship. There were no records about the said organization in the Club Archive and no member knows exactly the function of the said club. Rotarian Al decided to put up a community based Rotaract Club that will open its doors to the youth of Malabon. On January 7, 2012, the first regular meeting of Rotaract Club of Malabon was held at Malabon Rotary Clinic and Civic Center. The second and third regular meeting was held on January 21 and February 4, 2012 respectively. Basic Rotary and Rotaract Information was discussed during the first three meetings to educate the Rotaractors on the mission of Rotary Club in the society. On February 17, 2012, the officers and members were inducted at the Malabon Rotary Clinic and Civic Center. The occasion was attended by the District Governor Rafael Garcia III, District Rotaract Chairman Oscar Bautista, District Rotaract Representative Rowena Tejada and other district officers. Rotaractor Ericson Sadile was the Charter President of the Rotaract Club of Malabon. The event was coincided with the signing of the sister club agreement between Rotary Club of Malabon and Rotary Club of Daejon West of Korea. On April 2012, the Rotaractors planned their first project that will donate school supplies to elementary students. In order to put their plans into reality, they conducted a fund-raising program through a garage sale. All collected and solicited clothes and other materials were sold in Brgy. San Agustin. On June 7, 2012, their first project was held at the Syjuco Elementary School in Brgy. San Agustin entitled “BalikEskwela Project 2012”. A total of 220 grade 1 students received a set of school supplies from the Rotaract Club of Malabon. The event was also attended by the Rotarians. In July 2012, the first regular meeting for the new Rotary year was held and President Ericson Sadile remained the president of the club. After several meetings, the members planned another project for the Christmas Season. A Christmas Party for the children of Brgy. Baritan was approved by the general membership.
